On February 17, 2009, President Barak Obama signed the stimulus bill (American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009) that made some significant improvements to the energy efficiency tax credits available to US homeowners. You don’t have to install solar panels to your roof to still benefit from the tax credit. Less costly improvements such as installing a storm door, new exterior door and windows and upgraded insulation also qualify.
